Quality Assistant Manager
Timpl has partnered with a 1 tier supplier for a global automobile manufacture and is seeking for a Quality Assistant Manager
Key Responsibilities
Quality System & Compliance
- Assist in implementing, monitoring, and improving the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949).
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and external audits.
- Support preparation for customer and third-party quality audits.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor quality inspectors, engineers, and technicians.
- Assign tasks, review performance, and provide training to ensure staff competency.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
Supplier Quality
- Oversee incoming material inspections and supplier audits.
- Manage supplier corrective actions (SCARs) and ensure effective resolution of quality issues.
- Coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions and validations.
Production Quality Oversight
- Monitor in-process and final product inspections.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities for internal and external quality issues.
- Support implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Track quality performance metrics (scrap, rework, defect rates, warranty claims, cost of quality).
- Provide regular reports to Quality Manager and senior leadership.
- Recommend process improvements based on statistical analysis and trend data.
Customer Interface
- Respond to customer concerns and ensure timely communication/resolution.
- Represent company in customer quality meetings and reviews.
- Support warranty claim investigations and corrective actions.
Other Duties
- Maintain 5S and safety standards in quality areas.
- Assist in departmental budget planning and monitoring.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in automotive quality, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/assistant manager role.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
- Experience with supplier quality management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills (8D, Root Cause Analysis).
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); CAD or ERP systems a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Language: English required; Korean language skills preferred
